The Grudge 2004 Directed by Takashi Shimizu
Sarah Michelle Geller rocks. The Grudge was my first introduction to her as a preteen, and I then became a hardcore fan of hers when I watched Buffy for the first time at 14. 7/10.

Ju On: The Grudge 2002 Directed by Takashi Shimizu
A template for clever, non-linear story-building and masterful slow burn horror. This movie doesn't scare me like it used to, but still deserves a high rating for the nostalgia factor. One of the best ghost stories ever told! 8/10

28 Days Later 2002 Directed by Danny Boyle
Post-apocalyptic zombie movies are notoriously difficult to execute, but 28 days later did a decent job (as it should, it's an original). Besides, what's scarier than zombies? Zombies that can run. And what's scarier than that? sex-deprived rapists! 6.5/10
